I haven't read it since I was a teenager, and I've seen the movies so often that my opinion of Emma might be heavily reliant on THOSE. I'll have to see if I think Emma is less likable in the book...Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01974988315420539840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8330129568760171075.post-80119504982332053052012-08-30T08:31:36.577+02:002012-08-30T08:31:36.577+02:00It's good to know I'm not the only one! And, yes, there is romance involved - I found (in P&P at least) that the characters are very interesting, more than I expected. So I am looking forward to more Austen - especially this one, and many seem to not like Emma at all! -SarahAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8330129568760171075.post-5440238309513612082012-08-28T14:12:42.533+02:002012-08-28T14:12:42.533+02:00thanks Marie - I'm intrigued to read more of A...thanks Marie - I'm intrigued to read more of Austen...Pattyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16118488336055805591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8330129568760171075.post-40113325047151029772012-08-28T12:54:59.606+02:002012-08-28T12:54:59.606+02:00If you don't like goodie girls, it's too b...If you don't like goodie girls, it's too bad you started with Mansfield Park because Fanny Price is notoriously goodie-goodie, and almost none of Austen's other heroines are like her. I'm so glad you loved Emma- it's my 2nd favorite Austen- and I hope you continue to enjoy Austen's books!Marie Cloutierhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14938166831865436287noreply@blogger.com
