Here's to the first challenge

No serious newbie blogger can escape the thrill of challenges - and I would certainly not be the one to try!  So, for 2012, I've joined the What's in a name challenge,  hosted by Beth Fish reads  (Thanks to Larissa for posting this)

The challenge is to read in 2012 one book in each of the categories. The books can be in any form, and may overlap other challenges but not the categories.

So here are this year's categories and my intended reads for each:
1.  A book with a topographical feature in the title (examples: Black Hills, Purgatory Ridge, Emily of Deep Valley):
The Boscombe Valley mystery, by Arthur Conan Doyle
 2. A book with something you'd see in the sky in the title (examples: Moon Called, Seeing Stars, Cloud Atlas):
          Morning Star, by H.R. Haggard
 3. A book with a creepy crawly in the title (examples: Little Bee, Spider Bones, The Witches of Worm):
         Daddy-long-legs, by Jean Webster
 4. A book with a type of house in the title (examples: The Glass Castle, The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, Ape House):
The Memory Chalet, by Tony Judt
 5. A book with something you'd carry in your pocket, purse, or backpack in the title (examples: Sarah's Key, The Scarlet Letter, Devlin Diary):
The diaries of Adam and Eve, by Mark Twain
 6. A book with something you'd find on a calendar in the title (examples: Day of the Jackal, Elegy for April, Freaky Friday, Year of Magical Thinking):
In the year 2889, by Jules Verne (or his son, Michel Verne, as most nowadays believe)
