Challenges: My progress in 2012

It's a whole new year!  Start on a clean slate, you say?  Yes, indeed - that is, with regard to my reading challenges.  While I'm very happy with the overall progress in 2012, I can now, without fear, admit that I may have had too much on my plate.  Still, reading so much more intensely has made me more selective about what I want to read and which challenges to subscribe to this year (I hope...)

Without further ado, this is what happened in the last twelve months:

The challenges:

And then, the not-exactly challenges:
  • The Classics Club: 27/56 (I have to watch out, otherwise I'll end it up in two years instead of the original five...)
  • Century of books: 31/100 (I'll get there, eventually...)

All in all, happy enough to gather new challenges for this year and piling more books for them:

And, to complete the list:

(now that I look at my list, I suddenly feel it's almost empty - can anyone propose any more challenges for me?  please???)

Congrats on a successful year! I'm not sure if you have any tomes on your shelves, but the Tea and Books reading challenge, hosted by Birgit of the Book Garden is a great one: http://the-book-garden.blogspot.co.at/2012/11/tea-books-reading-challenge.html

  4. Well done on completing so many challenges! I'm signed up to a couple of reading months and the Century of Books this year and rather excited about reading more widely and deeply. :)

  5. Wow! You are putting my Classics Club progress to shame. This isn't a challenge per se, but have you seen that Amanda at Simpler Pastimes is hosting a classic children's literature event? I'm still deciding what to read for this. I have so many choices sitting on my shelves. It's a good problem to have. :)
