Cooking: detox diaries, week 3

This detox has been an incredible journey that has really put many of my long held beliefs on the test:  would I ever survive without cheese?  Yes.  And what about meat and fish? could I fill up on veggies and legumes?  Oh yes! 

Would I require a tiny bit of dessert after a good meal?  Sure, but more like an apple with (home-made) peanut butter...

Cooking: detox diaries, week 2

Week one of my detox passed like a breeze.  Not so the weight (because, let's face it, if I can lose weight while taking care of my health, count me in!).  But no, at half point I dared to weigh myself and see ... nothing... Can't say I was disappointed or dissuaded, rather I realised that I still had quite a stock in excess fuel to keep me going - at least in the beginning.  And so I continued, onwards and upwards.  And the week ended and pouf! I had lost 2 kilos...

Cooking: Detox diaries, week 1

So...
at some point in time we all go through an event that serves as a "wake up" call and that encourages us to investigate new ways to move forward with our lives:  from changing jobs, to changing houses, to change partner ... to change diet!
This is my little story of how a surgery, approaching 50 and swelling feet got me thinking about the future I wanted to have and how I got motivated to take matters in my own hands...
